Press Release
AIDS Concern Launches World AIDS Day Charity Auction 2020
(November 27, 2020, Hong Kong) 1st December 2020 marks World AIDS Day, and the 30th anniversary of AIDS Concern. The charity will hold RED FESTIVAL in December 2020 to raise public awareness through a series of activities focusing on HIV/AIDS-related topics. This is also a chance to connect with the communities and partners to actively respond to the need of support for people living with HIV in Hong Kong.
The first event of RED FESTIVAL is the World AIDS Day Charity Auction 2020. From now until December 23, 2020 (Wednesday), AIDS Concern is auctioning more than 35 prestigious gifts sponsored by corporates and artists on an online platform. (https://www.acauction2020.com/) Due to social movements and the COVID-19 pandemic, the services and fundraising work of the charity have been facing great difficulties. Some services have to be suspended due to insufficient funds. As one of the major events during the month, the initiative aims to raise funds for the frontline work on at-risk groups and people living with HIV.
The auction features an array of specially-picked items, including a tourbillon specially designed for AIDS Concern by MEMORIGIN, photographs by the famous artist Paul Cox, and also paintings created by people living with HIV.
The public is encouraged to make donations through the auction website in the hope to create a 3 ZERO society : ZERO new HIV infections, ZERO stigma for people living with HIV and ZERO AIDS deaths.
For enquiries, please contact Ms. Jeanne Cheung (Officer, Marketing and Communications) at 28641315 Thank you.
