Gatherings and seminars are held on a regular basis for people living with HIV and their caretakers with the goal of strengthening their mutual support and creating a supportive environment in the community.
Newly diagnosed people living with HIV support group
Adaptation groups are arranged for newly diagnosed PLHIV. The group consists of four to five members led by a peer counsellor who is a person living with HIV and staff of AIDS Concern. The group allows people living with HIV to express their feelings, to share their experience, and to understand and discuss relevant issues such as medication, family, work, love and sex, as well on other support services. Group members are free to initiate topics. Through the process, people living with HIV help each other to positively face the problems arising from the disease and to improve their quality of life.
