The kit should include:
① Two pouches
Pouches containing the tube with the developer solution, test strip and preservative.
Instruction
Please note: Do not eat or drink for at least 15 minutes before you start the test or use mouth cleaning products 30 minutes before you start the test.
① Take out the tube from the pouch
Please find a private place with a sanitary and flat surface to begin testing. Remove the cap and slide gently.
② DO NOT pour out the liquid.
DO NOT pour out the liquid and DO NOT drink it.
③ Take out test device
Tear open pouch containing the test device and remove. DO NOT touch the flat pad with fingers. DO NOT eat or swallow the preservative.
④ Swab your gum
Press the Flat Pad firmly against your gum and swab it along your upper gum once and your lower gum once.
⑤ Put the flat pad into the tube
Put the flat pad all the way into the tube until it touches the bottom. Rest the tube and pad against something so it does not fall over.
⑥ Wait for 20 minutes
Leave it there for 20 minutes before reading the results. DO NOT read the result after 40 minutes.
Read the Results:
When reading the results, ensure that there is a red line on the “C” portion of the assay to guarantee the validity of the test. If there is no line at the “C” portion of the assay, please contact us.
The “T” portion of the assay indicates the test results. If a red line is present on “T”, the test indicates HIV a positive result. If a red line is not present, the test indicates a negative result.
Invalid Result
Positive Result
Two complete lines, even if the line is faint, means you may be HIV positive. If your test result is HIV positive please do not panic. There is good treatment for HIV in Hong Kong. You will need to go to a doctor for a confirmation blood test. Please contact AIDS Concern by telephoning 23946677.
HIV Negative Result
One Line next to the “c” and No line next to the “T”, your result is HIV Negative. If the assay indicates a negative result, please record the result anonymously online to help AIDS Concern know how many tests have been used.
