The latest HIV/AIDS situation in Hong Kong (2013 3rd Quarter)
A total of 153 cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infections were reported to the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) in the third quarter of 2013 (up to 30th September, 2013), bringing the cumulative total of reported HIV infections to 6,198 since 1984. Of the 153 HIV cases reported in this quarter, Sexual Contacts are still the main Route of Transmission of which 78 acquired the infection via homosexual or bisexual contacts.
